Philip Shelburne is the founder and producing director for P.S. Productions and the Artistic Designer for PSFX. He is also the director and a creative consultant of Royal Productions, Inc. He specializes in producing and directing theatrical entertainment, talent, makeup, special effects, costumes, sets and props. His credits and clients include film, television, stage and multimedia.

Currently, he is the director of the award winning Tournament of Kings, the medieval themed jousting spectacular at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and has been honored by the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce as a finalist in the Community Achievement Awards for “Arts and Entertainment” three times. He has produced and directed  numerous critically acclaimed and award winning musicals and shows for the theatrical stage. Most recently he was the producing director of Jesus Christ Superstar, for Super Summer Theatre.

Phil is frequently invited as a guest lecturer, and for workshop demonstrations with actors.

Directorial favorites include: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Pillowman, Into the Woods, Seussical, Smokey Joe’s Café, Sweeney Todd, The Who’s Tommy, The Wiz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Big River, Barnum, Little Shop Of Horrors, Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead, Oliver, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Man of La Mancha.

He is in development with Royal Productions on a new medieval/fantasy Las Vegas production show, and is preparing to direct a production of Beauty and the Beast.

He has designed and constructed special effects, makeup fx, costumes and props for clients such as Siegfried and Roy, Disney, Excalibur, Westwood Studios, and Imagination Costume, in addition to a variety of Las Vegas stage productions, hotels and casinos, theme parks, universities, haunted houses, multimedia, television, film and celebrities.

He has a wide variety of credits as an actor and performed as Merlin/King Arthur in King Arthur’s Tournament for eight years. Acting awards and honors include numerous regional, state and national acting titles, competitive speech and interpretation titles, highest record of wins, numerous best actor awards, National Champion Dramatic Interpretation, and the ASA/NIET Hall of Fame.

Career-related activities include: producer, director, actor, narrator, scriptwriter, puppeteer, special makeup FX artist, educator, and consultant.

Mr. Shelburne was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended Southern Utah University, earning his B.A.
